Our region is tired of robber-barron developers getting tax breaks to build highly polluting power plants in this area that other states will not allow to be built. Yet these power plants provide electricty to the states that will not allow them, not to local residents and businesses. Welcome to the Third-World State of West Virginia. Citizens for Alternatives to Longview Power (CALP) is a campaign involving community groups and individuals who believe that Morgantown and the entire Monongahela River Valley can do better, in terms of economic and community development, than the proposed Longview Power coal-fired power plant. As part of MVCAC, CALP supports smart growth and development. LONGVIEW IS SHORT SIGHTED!
