CALP: More Local Impacts
WE CAN DO BETTER THAN LONGVIEW!

Longview Power plans to build a 4-mile long conveyor to bring coal and will also be transporting some coal by truck. Click here to see the conveyor and truck routes.

There are a number of residential properties in and around the proposed building site. Property values would be decreased in Fort Martin, Baker's Ridge, Stewartstown, and other nearby areas.

The area surrounding Fort Martin is home to significant historical sites such as Mason-Dixon Historical Park and the site of Fort Martin (c. 1773). The presence of the Longview Power Plant would have negative impact on such historical sites.

Aside from broadcast antennae, the 550-foot stack will be the tallest structure in West Virginia. It will be visible over a range of some 20 miles, including from Cooper's Rock and many people's homes.
